An update on the gearbox fault. I took the car to Citroen Birmingham and they diagnosed a problem with the "electro pump". It had ceased and was blowing the fusebox. The hose pipe connected to the pump had bursted too. The irony is that my independent warranty company (Click4Warranty) 5-star, does not cover that part - very upset.
Hi. Took my Citroen Grand Picasso to Citroen Garage, because of rubbing sound and squealing sound when driving from stationary . Bear in mind, they've supposedly tried the car and not found the fault, so you need a foolproof way and technique of showing it.

The fault turned out to be a corroded orange wire from F6 above the battery to pin 3 of the 28 way connector on the gearbox ECU. The corroded wire was in the loom behind the battery and appeared to be corroded by battery acid (I'm not sure how) or from water entry into the loom. I believe it's a common fault looking at the forum.

Is stuck in Neutral and showing Gearbox Faulty in dash, car wont always start and when it does there is a pause and 3 knocks and when engine running but idle car feels very juddery Diagbox shows P1734 Gearbox actuator position in the gear selection shaft signal fault-Short to Earth, permanent fault.
The instructions are quite clear, the gearbox from empty holds 2.1 litres. When drained you need to fill with 2 litres as there is a residual 0.1 litres in the box which won't drain. IF you do go ahead, then add 2 litres of replacement oil. Ah that's good if the instructions are that clear, easy peasy then!!
But in order to position and understand the current Citroen C4, we only need to remember Citroen cars from the 2000s-2010s. Jan 6, 2022 · Local garage found fault 0926-gear box fault the gear does not engage Citroen garage found code P0925 gearbox fault gear not engaged. They reset the gearbox programming ECU. They did a roadtest but no fault - fault tends to happen after the engine has warmed up although now happens soon after starting.
I have C4 Grand Picasso 2012 1.6 Auto. This morning my dash displayed "Gearbox Fault: Repair Needed". The symptoms following this message was that when i move the selector to Auto it doesn't auto change the gears. I can select Manual and change but it doesnt shift past 3rd gear. Reverse and Neutral are ok.
