In computing, a Control keyCtrl is a modifier key which, when pressed in conjunction with another key, performs a special operation (for example, Ctrl+C).
Open a different app (a text editor is usually a good choice) and try copying and pasting within that app. Type 3 words, select the 2nd word, paste it to the end of the line. If this works, you have ruled out the Windows clipboard as the problem. If this does not work, repeat this step with another app.

May 23, 2019 · My Ctrl-C combination stopped working today on all applications other than CMD Prompt. I downloaded the Passmark Keyboard Test app to help diagnose the problem. The Control key was recognised, the C key was recognised but the combination Ctrl-C was not. Ctrl-V was recognised as was all other dual key combinations.

All you have to do to get copy and paste working in Windows 10 is to right-click on the command prompt's title bar, choose Properties And then click "Enable new Ctrl key shortcuts". My ctrl + c doesn't work the rest do. No uninstalling drivers worked. I came across a post online talking about disk access AHCI, i changed mine to RAID, rebooted and ctrl + c worked again but at a price of my sata disks 2tb not showing. Switched back to AHCI and ctrl + c stopped working. Weird.
